Limited to just 200 signed prints, this 11×17 inch lithograph will make a fantastic addition to previous entries in the “Lip Gloss and Lasers” series by Drake, featuring glossy spot-varnish on the, you guessed it, lips and lasers. (You can read more about the other prints in this series here, and stay tuned to StarWars.com for Drake’s second artwork series debut coming soon!)

Dark Horse and TNT Team Up on Comic Book Prequel to “Falling Skies”

from Dark Horse Comics:

TNT is teaming up with publisher Dark Horse Comics to create a comic book and webcomic prequel to Falling Skies, the eagerly anticipated new series starring Noah Wyle (ER, TNT’s The Librarian movies) and produced by DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg. The comic book and webcomic are slated to be unveiled at New York Comic Con in October. Falling Skies, which is set to premiere on TNT in summer 2011, is a gripping drama that envisions a world where aliens have invaded, and the fate of humanity lies in the hands of a few survivors.

During New York Comic Con (Oct. 8-10), TNT and Dark Horse will distribute an exclusive, special-edition 12-14 page comic book that tells the harrowing backstory of the alien invasion. Beginning November 1, fans will be able to download an extended webcomic version through tnt.tv, darkhorse.com and iTunes, with new installments posted every two weeks.

“The Falling Skies comic book and webcomic provide a great way for TNT to ramp up excitement for Falling Skies, while also providing a thrilling backstory to the series’ intriguing premise and characters,” said Tricia Melton, senior vice president of entertainment marketing for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We look forward to working with Dark Horse Comics as we begin the Falling Skies invasion.”

In addition to the comic book and webcomic, Dark Horse is collaborating with TNT on the Falling Skies presence at this month’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. The event will include appearances and autograph sessions with series stars Wyle and Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), along with co-executive producer and writer Mark Verheiden (Heroes, Battlestar Galactica). On Friday, July 23, from 2-3 p.m. (PT), the three will appear at Dark Horse’s Comic-Con International booth, where they will sign exclusive Falling Skies posters. Then from 4:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. (PT), Wyle, Bloodgood and Verheiden will participate in a Q&A panel session in Room 6A.

In Falling Skies, Wyle stars as a former college professor who becomes the leader of a group of soldiers and civilians struggling against an occupying alien force. Bloodgood co-stars as Anne Glass, a therapist who works with the surviving children to help them cope with the traumatic situation. The series also stars Drew Roy (Lincoln Heights) as Hal and Maxim Knight (Brothers & Sisters) as Matt, Tom’s two sons; and Seychelle Gabriel (Weeds) as Lourdes, an orphaned teenager who helps run the group’s commissary. Will Patton (Armageddon, TNT’s Into the West) plays a fierce leader of the resistance.

Falling Skies is executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, along with DreamWorks Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank and screenwriter Robert Rodat. Rodat, who earned an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for Saving Private Ryan, wrote the pilot from an idea he co-conceived with Spielberg. Verheiden and Greg Beeman (Heroes, Smallville) are co-executive producers. The pilot was directed by Carl Franklin (One False Move, Out of Time).

Dark Horse to Unveil the First Look at “Turok, Son of Stone” at Comic-Con International!

from Dark Horse Comics:

Building on the success of the Dark Horse Gold Key line, today the Company announced that it would provide the comic world with the very first look at the highly-anticipated Turok, Son of Stone comic at this week’s Comic-Con International 2010 in San Diego, California. News of the line was first announced at Comic-Con International 2009, and fans have been anxiously awaiting details ever since.

Perhaps the best-known character in the iconic Gold Key line, Turok has been highly visible in the public eye in recent years, following its incredibly successful video game franchise, as well as the acclaimed feature length animated, Turok: Son of Stone.

Now, Turok returns to the comic book world helmed by comic book veteran, Jim Shooter, with art by Eduardo Francisco (Mass Effect: Incursion), and incredible covers by Raymond Swanland (Magnus: Robot Fighter, Aliens vs. Predator), arriving in your local comic shop this October.

“Turok was one of my favorite comics in my youth,” said Mike Richardson, president of Dark Horse Comics. “We’re having great fun re-imagining the series with Jim and we are building up to some great surprises for those familiar with the character as well as new readers.”

“One continuum over from ours, Earth is still in its Cretaceous Period,” Jim Shooter explained. “However, a drifting rift in spacetime is sweeping things from anywhen here to there. It’s a dangerous place. How strong, how tough, how smart would you have to be to survive, to thrive, to become a force to be reckoned with? This is a story about about a fearless man who will find a way. I love this series.”

Fans are encouraged to attend the Dark Horse publishing panel on Friday, July 23rd at 11:30am in Room 3, for exclusive news on Turok, and the rest of the Gold Key titles.

Clone Hunter

from Pandora Machine:

Clone Hunter, the much anticipated science fiction thriller from Pandora Machine, will be released nationwide on DVD by Lifesize Entertainment on August 10, 2010. Clone Hunter is the fifth sci-fi feature from New York based production house, Pandora Machine. The company has been building a loyal audience over the past several years with titles like Solar Vengeance and Millennium Crisis. Clone Hunter stars Ben Thomas, Angela Funk, and 2009 ITA Nominee David Ian Lee.

“LIVING FOREVER TAKES LESS TIME THAN YOU THINK!”

Pandora Machine has relied on the time tested formula of sharp screenplays and strong acting to create entertaining sci fi films. “Clone Hunter is a fun film that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Like most of our work, it is in the spirit of the late 70’s and early 80’s Roger Corman ‘paceploitation’ films,” said director Andrew Bellware. The script was written by UK scribe Eric Ian Steele. Many of the visual effects in Clone Hunter were crafted using the open souce animation program Blender.

“HEY WE’RE GUNS FOR HIRE, BUT WHAT ABOUT THEIR SOULS?”

What happens if the artificial intelligence that enables the wealthy and powerful to live in limitless luxury wants to share in it? Ben Cain and his junior partner, Rachel, are hired by Gulliver, a brutal Oligarch, to track down a murderous clone that threatens the stability of Gulliver’s private planet. The more Ben and Rachel delve into the case the more corruption and rot they discover, until they come face to face with their own darkest secrets and must decide which side they are on.

Clone Hunter is the kind of entertaining movie that Hollywood seems to have forgotten how to make,” said Lifesize Entertainment President Bruce Frigeri. “It values story over spectacle and character over cliché in a way that audiences will love. We’re delighted to be distributing this film.”

About LifeSize Entertainment:
Lifesize Entertainment is a full service North American Distribution Company and Worldwide Sales Agent for quality feature films and documentaries. LifeSize DVDs are now exclusively distributed by E1 Entertainment.

Title: CLONE HUNTER
Running Time: 86 Minutes
Pre-Order Date: July 13, 2010
Street Date: August 10, 2010
MSRP: $24.98

Clone Hunter is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com and other e-tail sites. It is also available for rental reservation on Blockbuster.com, but not Netflix, as of this writing. Clone Hunter’s trailer may be viewed at http://vimeo.com/10988518.
