Pre-orders begin for Sea Ghost Action Figure

Nemo Publishing announced today that pre-orders are officially open for The Sea Ghost action figure. Sea Ghost’s first appearance was in The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli Vol 1 and was so loved that the character spawned his own title in Sea Ghost #1: The Sea Ghost In The Machine and now he’s available as his own action figure. The 8” figure has a special pre-order price of $16 instead of the regular price of $20. The run will be limited so fans should not delay placing an order at www.captneli.com.

The collectible “maker” action figure is based on the classic Mego-style. Original character designed by Capt’n Eli and Commander X creator Jay Piscopo and handcrafted with the help of Paul “Dr Mego” Clarke. The head was created by custom toy artist Troy Younger. Piscopo explains, “The Sea Ghost figure was the next logical step after the success of the Commander X Figure. Sea Ghost is the one figure that resonates with all toy and comic collectors.”

About the Creator:

Maine native Jay Piscopo is the author and illustrator of “The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli” graphic novel series. He is also the creator of“Sea Ghost #1: The Sea Ghost in the Machine” and “Commander X All Star Special” one-shot comic books, which he wrote and illustrated in his unique signature style, combining 2D characters with 3D backgrounds. He is a featured contributor in the Reading With Pictures anthology and a regular illustrator for Moonstone Books. Past projects include working as an art director at Tom Snyder Productions where he produced educational CD-ROMs, including the award-winning Fizz and Martina’s Math Adventures, and animated the ABC Saturday Morning show Squigglevision.

ANT creator launches new comic book on Kickstarter

Comic veteran Mario “OMG” Gully launched his latest comic book on Kickstarter this week. Written and illustrated by Gully and colored by Thomas Mason, Dirty Bones is the story of a dog named Rover who’s caught up a world of organized crime and forbidden love. With incentives including signed printed copies of the comic book, posters and commissioned art, Gully aims to raise $50,000 to complete the artwork and get issue #1 on the stands.

“This is my first big project since I created ANT. I’m a much better artist and writer than I was a few years ago, and Thomas is just killing on the colors,” says Gully. “ANT was my Off the Wall album.Dirty Bones is my Thriller.”

At the center of this epic tale is Rover – an ex-gangster who gave up his life on the streets to embark on a quest of self discovery while standing against the segregation between the mutts and the pedigrees. Rover quickly finds out that life in the city has changed as Dirty, the notorious “Big Dawg”, has taken control of New Bark City by force, while fighting a vicious turf war with Madam Kitty for ultimate power.

“We’ve put a lot of energy into creating the best possible Dirty Bonespreview and incentives for fans, collectors and retailers,” says Gully. “I can honestly say this is the best project I have ever been a part of.”

EW Offers First Glance at OUTLANDER’s Claire and Frank

Starz’ upcoming fantasy drama Outlander promises to bring to life a beloved time-travel romance novel series life as well as return Battlestar Galactica showrunner Ron Moore to TV. As readers of Diana Gabaldon’s books are well aware, the story follows Claire (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse in the 1940s who’s vacationing with her husband (Tobias Menzies) in Scotland. Claire falls through a time-travel portal to the 18th century, where she falls in love with a young warrior (Sam Heughan). Above is the first photo from the show’s 1945 era and below we have a interview with Moore, who in addition to showrunning Outlander is also producing the promising Syfy thriller Helix. Moore gives us some details about Outlander, as well as touches on HBO’s fantasy hit Game of Thrones, and the potential TV future of some franchises he’s previously worked on (namely, Star Wars and Star Trek).
