Sony Pictures Consumer Products Selects Factory Entertainment for “Men in Black” Collectibles

from Factory Entertainment:

“We’re ‘them’. We’re ‘they’. We are the Men in Black”

Factory Entertainment is pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a global license to create and market collectible prop replicas from the motion pictures Men in Black and Men in Black II. The line will kick off in early 2012 with a “working” replica of the Neuralyzer featured in Men in Black II.

“We are excited about the opportunity to create fantastic products for Men in Black,” said Factory CEO, Jordan Schwartz. “The Men in Black franchise is a fan favorite and features a wealth of iconic props. 2012 marks the 15th anniversary of the release of the original film and we are delighted to be able to celebrate that legacy just in time for the return of Agents J and K to the big screen.”

Stay tuned for more announcements regarding this license soon!

ThinkGeek’s New Sustainable Light Source: FAIRIES!

from ThinkGeek:

Another year older and wiser…

After the annual partying, flinging of the free t-shirts, and deletion of incriminating evidence from our smart phones, our 12th birthday rites are finally complete. And now that we’re a year older, we promise to crush our enemies, see them driven before us, and hear the lamentation of their mascots.

Oh, and to see Conan the Barbarian on Friday, for old times’ sake.

Fairy Berries
Magical lighting for your outdoor gatherings. We’ve stolen these Fairy Berries from the woods where we narrowly escaped being lured into Fairyland, never to be seen again. Each berry is about 3/4″ in diameter and contains a tiny white LED that will glow and fade randomly, producing a magical light effect. Toss ’em across your lawn for a twinkly landscape, string them up and hang them on trees, or float them in your pool or pond. Make some magic in your yard tonight!

ThinkGeek turns 12! [insert cake is a lie joke here]

from ThinkGeek:

We feel old.

Old like we existed before The Sims kicked gnomes, before Survivor aired, before the PS2 was released — even before Trogdor burninated the countryside.

And we have you to blame. Your support of Timmy’s world domination plan makes our 12th anniversary on Saturday, August 13th possible, and we’d like to thank you with hugs! Or is that too forward? How about a free, limited edition anniversary t-shirt, back to school goodies, and a <3? Consider it done.

ThinkGeek’s Free 12th Anniversary T-Shirt of Win
You + Us = Happy Anniversary
The 1st anniversary gift is paper. Guess what the 12th anniversary is? T-shirts.* We got you one to celebrate, free with $20 purchase. Get yours while supplies last. (*It’s actually silk, but we decided against Mecha Timmy lingerie. Maybe next year.)

Back to School
Work hard, geek hard
Whether you’re outfitting a dorm room (posters, check), thinking about what to pack in your little one’s lunches (sporks, got those too), or prepping for an eventful first day back in class (Annoy-a-trons, glad we’re not your teacher), we have it all in our Back to School section. Knock ’em dead this year!

The ThinkGeek Story – 12 years later…
ThinkGeek got started way back on Friday, August 13, 1999 to support the geeks at the front line of the internet revolution with fun, techie things and awesome customer service. Everything was going fine until a month after launch when we were slashdotted. Our server — named Gandalf and running on a PII 450 with 128 megs of SDRAM — was crippled by thousands of simultaneous visits. 12 years later, we’re better equipped. And our servers are now named after game show hosts, in case you were wondering about poor Gandalf.

J!NX: What Mysteries Lurk Within?

from J!NX:

The story behind the Mysterious Bag of Mystery is one that is shrouded in… well, mystery. You see, they’re actually put together by some sort of diminutive mythical creature; we’re just not sure what. It’s either gnomes or dwarves or elves (the Keebler variety, not Tolkien) or sprites or something. The thing is, whenever we try to approach them in their bag-prep operation, they scurry away. We’re left with random bags of tees, 3 of the same size in each. With this season’s harvest, we discovered precious variants, dubbed Epic Loot, which are limited editions of the top J!NX tees in rare color selections. Will you be one of the lucky few to receive such grand booty (yes, overt innuendo intended)? All of this, and the chance to now receive selection from our Special Collections, all for the price of one shirt.
