“The Guild” Season 3 comes to DVD & iTunes

from The Guild:

The Guild is pleased to announce the official release dates of the Season 3 DVD and ALL our episodes to iTunes! And soon you’ll be able to stream seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix! Whew, that’s a lot of stuff! Keep reading for details!

First, on Monday, January 25th, The Guild seasons 1 through 3 will be available for purchase on iTunes for the first time! Because of the short length of our episodes, on iTunes they will sell as bundles of 2-3 episodes (each approximately 10 minutes in length) so it’s a bit confusing at first glance, but all the episodes are there, we promise! (See the end of this post for the complete iTunes episodes listing).

Season 1 will be available in standard definition for $0.99 per iTunes episode bundle or $2.97 for the full season of 10 episodes. The first episode bundle from Season 1 (episodes 1-3) will be available for FREE download.

Seasons 2 and 3 will be available in both standard and high definition, priced at $0.99 per episode bundle (SD) or $1.99 per episode bundle (HD). Full “Season passes” are $5.99 (SD) or $9.99 (HD). Note: The iTunes downloads are episodes only. Downloads are US and Canada only, with a UK release coming soon.

As an exclusive bonus, the iTunes Season 3 Season Pass will include the free bonus extra: “Tips on Making a Web Series” with producer Kim Evey, director Sean Becker and creator Felicia Day. The three answer questions, submitted by fans through Twitter and our website, about how to make a web series. Er, the title explains it all. 🙂

Then, on Tuesday, February 15th, Season 3 arrives on DVD exclusively on Amazon.com with a retail price of $14.95!

Bonus features on the DVD include “Do You Want to Date My Avatar” Music Video, The Making of “Do You Want to Date My Avatar,” the Halloween episode, Guild Applicant Rejects, How to Build Vork’s Sword, Audio Commentary with the Cast, Audio Commentary with the Creator, Director and Producer, Axis of Anarchy Interviews, Gag Reels, PDF of Script, Play All Feature and English Subtitles. The Amazon.com DVD release comes on two DVD-R discs by Amazon’s Create Space, and is NTSC format, region-free.

Later in the spring, Season 3 will be released to YouTube and to retail stores via a DVD from New Video (with identical content and cover art but on a single disc).

Lastly, on February 1 you will be able to watch all of Season 1 or Season 2 on Netflix. All episodes have been edited together with only beginning and ending credits, so you can watch them like continuous movie, like the “Play All” DVD feature.

Whew, that’s all for now. We know you’re impatient for Season 4, we are working as quickly as we can on it, promise! More info to come as soon as we have it.

Thanks so much for your support!

Gina Chiarelli Joins the Cast of Riese!

Gina Chiarelli

Series co-creator Ryan Copple announced today that Gina Chiarelli has joined the cast of Riese the Series. Copple said, “She’s an amazing actress and actually the acting coach Christine (Chatelain) has used. She’s won and been nominated for a LOT of theatre awards. She plays Cacilia, a High Priestess of the Sect, residing in Asgard.”

While sci-fi fans might recognize her from shows such as The Dead Zone, Masters of Science Fiction, and The Outer Limits, Chiarelli has appeared in dozens of shows on television, film and stage. Most recently she received critical acclaim for the film See Grace Fly, in which she plays a schizophrenic woman whose behavior becomes increasingly erratic after the death of her mother.

She was nominated for a Genie Award for Best Actress, won Best Actress at the Vancouver International Film Festival and a Leo Award for Best Actress for her role as Grace, and has half a dozen other awards for various stage and film projects she’s worked on. In addition to being an award-winning actress, Chiarelli is also a producer and personal acting coach.

Chiarelli’s character, Cacilia, will appear in Chapter 2 of Riese, which begins filming soon in Vancouver and will air through various online outlets beginning in early 2010.

Riese is a sci-fi/fantasy series richly influenced by history, mythology, folklore and steampunk. It follows a young woman and her companion, a wolf named Fenrir, who travel through a collapsing world trying to piece together the fragmented memories of her past while attempting to evade the dangerous religious cult that hunts her. With a high budget compared to other web series, and filmed on the RED camera in high definition, the show is visually beautiful. The wardrobe, music and depth of story all contribute to creating the world of Eleysia.

Riese features sci-fi regulars such as Christine Chatelain (Sanctuary, Supernatural, The Collector), Sharon Taylor (Smallville, Stargate Atlantis, Eureka), Patrick Gilmore (Stargate Universe, Battlestar Galactica), Ben Cotton (Harper’s Island, Stargate Atlantis, Taken), Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary, Caprica, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis), Peter Kelamis (Stargate Universe, Dragon Ball Z, The X-Files), Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary, jPod, Battlestar Galactica), Allessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica, Smallville, Death Note), and Allison Mack (Smallville, Alice & Huck).

The Countdown Begins to “Riese the Series” Chapter 2!

Riese the Series has wowed viewers since it launched its premiere episode, “Hunt,” on November 1, 2009, on KoldCast and YouTube. Since that time, they’ve have over 1,000,000 views. Chapter 1 wrapped up two weeks ago on January 4th and Chapter 2 begins on February 1st. So as not to leave us high and dry when we’ve come to rely on our Riese fix every two weeks, Riese the Series has graciously posted a trailer for Chapter 2 and it looks soooooooo good. We are definitely going to see more of this incredible world that co-creator Ryan Copple was telling us about when we spoke with him last September. Already at the top of the list of best web series of 2009, this show promises to just keep getting better in 2010.

The Legend of Neil: 3 Days Left, 3 Votes

from The Legend of Neil:

Hey Legend of Neil-lovers,

So I really believe we’ve got a shot at winning some Streamy Awards this year, and it would really benefit the show if we could pull it off. There’s three days left that you can vote and you can vote once each day, the official ballot is below.

Please try and make it all the way through to the craft awards. I believe that out of every web series I’ve seen, our crew does the most with very little. The sets, the art, the lighting, the music (hell we had a musical!) are really so good because of these unsung heroes of the set, so let’s finally sing them. That’s not to say that the acting, writing, directing aren’t half bad either, so feel free to vote for those too. So, please take a few minutes and make it happen for the show you love, because it’s all in YOUR HANDS!

An Open Letter to the Web Series Community

from LG15 Today:

Tomorrow January 11, 2010 is a very special day. We will see the launch of a new chapter of the story that takes place within the LG15 Universe.

We frequently hear that in the web series community anything lonelygirl15 is viewed as a relic. Perhaps, but perhaps you have just not been paying attention because it was a “fad” way back in 2006.

The reality is that the community has been through many trials and tribulations. The history is long and complicated but full of passion and creativity. At the core of the community has always been an ability to make videos and tell stories either as “companions series” within the LG15 Universe, or as fully independent series in their own universe. When The Last were given the opportunity to continue the canon story via The Show is Yours they rose to the occasion and showed those who watched that you can tell a compelling story on an extremely limited budget.

We as a community have grown up with the web series genre. We are strong proponents of the web series genre. And, we may very well be fans of your own show.

That said, tomorrow is a special day and we call on you all to lend your support to LG15: Outbreak. We have no more idea than you what the show will bring to the table so there are no guarantees. What is certain is that it deserves a first look and it certainly deserves and needs your support. And, if we are not mistaken it may well take you on a compelling ride you did not expect.

So, that said we ask everyone including Tubefilter, Newteevee, all the other web series blogs and sites, all the producers of other web series and fans of other web series to give LG15: Outbreak all the help you can muster on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. Let us make tomorrow a day the entire web series community came together and acted as one voice and with any luck a few of you will become hooked. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thanks

mm
