Mighty “Bite Me” – Machinima’s Zombie Comedy Series Returns

From The Nerdist:

If zombies attacked your home and city, would you be shocked? Would you flail around with trial and error methods before finally figuring out that you have to hit them in the head and avoid their bite? Or would you know exactly what to do, thanks to years of watching George Romero movies and playing Capcom games? Characters in vampire movies generally know what a vampire is and how to fight it, but most zombie fiction features stunningly ignorant protagonists (that member of your party with a bandaged bite wound? Shoot her now, dumbass!).

Not so with Bite Me, the horror-comedy web series from Machinima, the second season of which starts today. Slacker waiter Jeff (Yousef Abu-Taleb), put-upon insurance clerk Mike (Ryan Welsh) and mouthy sign-twirler Greg (Justin Giddings) have arguably been preparing for this apocalyptic event their whole lives, constantly playing Left 4 Dead andResident Evil while debating inconsistencies in the cinematic zombie-verse. You may know there’s controversy about whether 28 Days Later actually depicts zombies or not, but were you aware that there’s also a heated Evil Dead debate, i.e. does it count as zombies if demon possession is involved?

We had a chance to visit the set of season 2, and find out where each cast member stands on the best ways to fight the dead. Though our lips are sealed when it comes to specific details, we can tell you that the second season is a lot broader in scope, with many more characters, locations and plot points. If you haven’t already, check out the first season online right now, then head on over to our exclusive set visit report to prepare for a second round.

Bite Me Season 2 begins today on Machinima’s YouTube channel.

VIZ MEDIA BRINGS BLUE DRAGON: TRIALS OF THE SEVEN SHADOWS TO NORTH AMERICAN FANS ON VIZANIME.COM AND HULU

VIZ Media has announced the launch of BLUE DRAGON: TRIALS OF THE SEVEN SHADOWS, the second season of the hit fantasy adventure series BLUE DRAGON (both rated TV-14), available now on VIZAnime.com, the company’s own website for free anime, as well as on the streaming content provider HULU (www.Hulu.com). Episodes 1-5 are available now, and 2 new episodes will debut each Friday.

The BLUE DRAGON series is based on the exclusive Xbox 360 videogame “BLUE DRAGON,” developed by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of “Final Fantasy,” and features character designs by Akira Toriyama, the creator of the best-selling DRAGON BALL series of manga (published in North America by VIZ Media).

BLUE DRAGON is a classic adventure story of magical Shadow powers, flying air fortresses, and unbounded heroism! Brought together by fate, Seven Soldiers of Light must awaken the Shadow within themselves in time to overcome a despotic power and bring peace to their land. Their ensuing journey through a rich fantasy world is also an internal journey to awaken the great power within each of them.

In the exciting Second Season, Shu and his friends fought to defeat the evil lord Nene, the ruler of the Grankingdom. Nene was defeated, but it was revealed that the true evil was none other than Zola, who was the avatar of the legendary Darkness. Shu and the other Seven Soldiers of Light managed to once again seal off the force of Darkness, but lost their Shadow Powers in the process. Two years has passed since the battle with Darkness. As Shu and Bouquet continue their battle against General Logi and his Rosekstan army, a new threat arrives. Powerful dragons calling themselves the “Legion of Elite Species” set out to test the worthiness of mankind, selecting Shu as the candidate.

Blizzcon 2011 and “Dragon Age: Redemption” Episode 2

from The Guild:

It’s that time of year – Blizzcon is here! Once again The Guild is pleased to be invited by the fine folks at Blizzard Entertainment to the annual two day gaming festival that sees gamers from around the world convene in Anaheim. This year is especially exciting because The Guild’s season 5 was written by Felicia as an homage to convention-going and gaming conventions. So the cast is especially excited to meet up with fans and hear how the fictional Megagame-O-Ramacon measured up to real life.

There will be no Guild panel this year, however we will have a booth with several signings scheduled (stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook for schedule announcements). Cast members Vincent Caso, Felicia Day, Amy Okuda and Robin Thorsen will be in attendance. The cast will also be special guests at the Curse party Friday night (October 21, 2011) at the Hilton.

In other news, the second episode of Felicia’s newest web series, Dragon Age: Redemption is now live on the web via Machinima (catch the first episode here if you haven’t already):

Season 5 of The Guild has concluded, and we thank you, our loyal fans for the continued support. Did you have a favorite line or moment from this season? If so, please leave a comment – we do read them!
